Bicheno Beer Co. X Waubs Harbour Whisky
When you collaborate with like-minded people in a small community, who are exceptional at their craft, you know that special things are going to happen!
Over the past year, we have been quietly working on a special collaboration with our mates Rob, Tim and Bec from Waubs Harbour Whisky. It all began when we started our brewery in the back room of the distillery and spent hours chatting and planning all things beer and whisky. Our brewer (and master plumber) Phil, even installed the copper piping used throughout Waubs Harbour distillery.
Now all that planning and dreaming is coming to fruition with the production of something that we believe is pretty damn good.
The launch of Bicheno Beer Co’s first stout, aged in Waubs Harbour Whisky casks marks the first of our collaborations with incredible, local east coast Tasmanian producers.
This 10% ABV beer is big, bold and decadent. Brewed first and then matured for 6-months in an ex-bourbon cask, which had previously matured Waub’s Harbour whisky, allows a subtle single malt influence on the stout.
The key to its success? Rob from Waubs Harbour Whisky selected the perfect American oak ex-bourbon cask (formerly home to Waubs Original Whisky) as the ultimate finish for Bicheno Beer Co’s rich, chocolatey stout.
We can’t wait to share this with you and for you to indulge in the flavours of rich, dark, dried fruits, toffee and dark chocolate with big coconut and vanilla from the barrel.
